TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello! My name is Kerry, and I teach Social Studies.

Since becoming certified in 2010, I have had the opportunity to work in several long-term teaching placements around NY state. My experience is mainly derived from working as a substitute: Thinking on my feet, pulling lessons out of thin air and working within incredibly diverse classrooms at a moment's notice have all helped me to develop a set of projects that will work for nearly any occasion.

Currently, I am working within a Special Education Alternative School. I specialize in self-contained MNP 7-12 classrooms.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My goal is to keep students actively engaged at school. Independent research, hands-on projects and creative problem solving all feature heavily in my lesson planning. The majority of my lessons are geared towards students with disabilities, and can easily be scaled according to the needs of your own class.
