I am currently in my first year teaching 7th-12th grade Visual Arts, Digital Design, and Art History and I am loving every minute of it!
My personal philosophy of education is that the focus in the classroom should be student-centered. By creating engaging and thought provoking questions geared towards student’s interests each lesson is crafted to meet the student’s needs. Suddenly, ideas and techniques to be taught become points of interests instead of students thinking they must simply learn the material to pass the class. By engaging the student and creating a connection I create a life-long learner rather than a student who can regurgitate information for a test and then forget the information.
