I am a second grade teacher at an achievement-focused charter school, and I love teaching language arts and math! I have classroom teaching experience in both first and second grades, and I love all things K-2. Outside of classroom teaching, I am the founding director of a dance education organization called Dance Daze, Inc., and I teach dance classes for children ages 2 to 12 years.
I am passionate about encouraging students to become lifelong learners, and I enjoy incorporating song and movement into my lessons.
Former John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Any Given Child Artist in Residence, as part of an initiative that helped bring arts participation during the school day for students in grades K-8 from only 17% in 2009 to 100% currently.
I have a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, all from the University of the Pacific. I am also an American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher, and I have completed all of the core courses in the Arts Integration Specialist Program through the Alameda Country Office of Education. I love school, and I plan to return for a doctoral degree!
Outside of being an elementary educator and a dance teacher, I love being an entrepreneur, mentoring high school and college students through my nonprofit, and designing and implementing youth programs, including summer camp! In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, studying language (French, German, and Hebrew), playing recreational sports with friends, trying new restaurants, and listening to live music.
