I am a long term supply teacher at a francophone high school. I started tutoring when I was in high school (grade 12). My first student was the son of family friends whom I taught French and Guitar Lessons. In my upper university years I participated in a mentorship program for first-year students, which required me to provide guidance on navigating university life, and tutoring services. I tutored in the following subjects: Biological Aspects of Health, Biodiversity, Anatomy, and Physiology. My love of teaching does not end with tutoring. I've been a competitive volleyball coach for over 5 years. I enjoy seeing young people learn new skills and grow within their respective field (whether it be a school subject or sport). The opportunity to be a tutor with Tutor Doctor would provide me with the experience I need to advance my career as an educator.
Organization is the key to learning. I approach teaching with a step by step method that breaks down different components of the subject. I believe that everyone learns differently and I like to use different approaches based on an individual's learning style. Personally, I am a visual learner and have always benefited from visual representations including sketches, diagrams, and videos. I enjoy coming up with different ways to display the learning subject visually and would be happy to create individualized cards for my students.
