I have worked with children since I hit double digits unless you count my younger brothers and cousins. If you do, then its been even longer. :) Experience: -babysitting (7 years) -childcare/daycare/preschool (4 years) -summer camp (4 years) -field experience (4 semesters) -student teaching (one semester= 3rd inclusive and 4th/5th spec.ed. -substituting (1 year, with a LTS in 3rd) -personal classroom (2nd=1 year, 3rd=1+ years)
My teaching style is an adapted version on Whole Brain Learning (aka Power Teaching). I do not strictly adhere to that but add my own personal flare to it. I am willing to adapt as necessary but remain "Firm, Fair, and Friendly" as my college professor would say. (Dr. Ferraro)
In college, I received the Delta Epsilon Sigma National Student Award in 2011 and in 2012, I received the Kelly Vaughn Teaching Excellence Award.
I received my bachelor of arts degree at Neumann University, Aston, PA for Early Childhood and Elementary Education with a Special Education Certification and a minor in Literature. I am currently attending graduate school online through Western Governors University for my masters of science degree for Curriculum and Instruction.
I am a fun, life loving, sport cheering, down-to-earth third grade teacher. I have two younger brothers and a very big family who I love ever SO MUCH! (even when they get on my last nerve) I grew up with three cats but am in love with my golden retriever dog, Sadie. I enjoy spending time outside and being active when I can but I also enjoy snuggling on the couch with a good movie/book.
