I started teaching as a tutor for younger students when I was in middle school, then continued to tutor K-6 subjects and SAT preparation in college. I became a substitute teacher grades K-8 for Bucks County school districts after graduation, then taught as a 2nd grade literacy co-teacher for a charter school in North Philadelphia. I was also working as a Kindergarten and After School teacher in a private school setting in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Previous ages taught at this school include toddlers and preschool. I have a passion for the written word, and I plan to continue my career as a Reading Specialist and ESL teacher now that I co-teach for ESL in my high school Sciences Department.
I would define myself as a constructivist teacher with a great respect for the need for student-driven activities that involve different learning styles and endorse cooperative learning. As an ESL teacher, I strive to make learning meaningful by creating or aligning objectives with learning activities that are sensitive to cultural differences and, often, interrupted schooling that has led to lower comprehension levels.

I graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education K-6. Additionally, I graduated Saint Joseph's University, where I studied to become a Reading Specialist with a certification in English as a Second Language.
