I have been teaching English in a high school for 25 years, developing curriculum and common assessments, and coaching others to use best practice instructional strategies. I am also a coordinator of a school-within-a-school program at the high school.
I teach with one rule: I don't tell students what to think. They must think for themselves. I give them multiple opportunities to learn using real world strategies.
My program received an ISBE Lighthouse Grant award for program success and mentoring and a PBL Grant for Problem-Based Learning.
I have a Bachelors degree in English with teacher certification, a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership with a type 75 endorsement. I have also successfully passed the Administrative Evaluation test.
I love travel, home decor, my family, and my great friends.
