I have worked in multiple elementary schools in the Virginia area. I worked at a summer camp where some of my responsibilities were teaching arts and crafts and drama. I am currently working on my action research project where I am studying the testing and teaching of reading comprehension in grade 3,4, and 5. I have also taught ESL overseas in orphanages, shelters, and school to students ranging from Preschool - 12th grade. The countries I have taught in include Ghana, India, Philippines, Thailand, Peru, and Romania.
I believe children learn best through experience and activity. The best way to teach someone is through tactile learning. I want students to enjoy what they are doing while they learn.

I am currently an undergraduate at Shenandoah University studying elementary education.
I love to make lessons for children that both stimulate, and educate their young minds. If a child enjoys themselves during a lesson, they are more likely to retain the information. School should be a place for learning, but that doesn't mean it can't also be a fun and enjoyable experience. Making lessons that are active and entertaining may take more effort and time, than making a simple lecture, however, the work is definitely worth it.
