Occasional Teacher: I have worked in all grades, and have seen a number of different resources, teaching styles, classroom setups etc. I loved this time in my career because it really helped me to form my own educational philosophy and really consider how I would want me own classroom to run. Long Term Positions: Special Needs: - I taught a Fundamental Skills Program (FSP) Social studies, Science, Social Skills, and Health. This really helped me to improve my accommodations and modifications to ensure every child was getting the proper instruction and resources fit perfectly for their level. Learning Resource Teacher: - Allowed me to work in small groups and one on one using some of the highest end Literacy resources based on students Individual Education Plans- Kindergarten- Grade 1- Grade 2- Grade 3- Grade 6-
I believe in a mixture. I think small groups and leveled pairing is important for some lessons, where as I also believe in order to consolidate learning there are times where individual work is needed. I believe that students learn well from technology, but that it needs to be run with the teacher as a large group to model appropriate learning methods on the device.
