TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I trained in fine arts and teaching at Southern Cross University gaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Art and Education, majoring in Painting and minoring in Digital Art and Design. This led to an exciting, challenging and educational role for me as a teacher at Chester Hill North Public School. I was appointed as Computers Teacher for Early Stage 1 through to Stage 3 for Term 3, 2009, before continuing in Term 4 implementing Count Me In Too numeracy program to Early Stage 1 and Stage 1. In 2010 I undertook a classroom teacher role for a Year 3 class. During my appointment at Chester Hill North Public School I was able to refine classroom management and behaviour management strategies. I worked with a dynamic team of teachers to develop engaging quality teaching and learning programs to support our students socially, emotionally and academically. During 2012 I taught Multimedia at Trinity Catholic College in Lismore. I call upon my experience in both Visual Art and Graphic Art to ensure students are developing a visually aesthetic product as well as using software and applications that are at an Industry standard. I have developed programs for all stages and implemented them with success. During my time at Trinity Catholic College I developed and delivered successful teaching and learning programs, established myself as a cooperative and valued member of staff and volunteered for several extra-curricular activities including chaperoning Year 12 leaders to a youth forum in Toowoomba to develop themselves and their faith. I believe I am a uniquely qualified teacher due to my education, past work experiences and my own distinctive artmaking skills across a very broad range of artistic practices. These include painting, digital photography, digital art and design, film, animation, ceramics, printmaking and traditional artmaking techniques. I have also established a small boutique Graphic Design business, which allows me to continue to practice freelance digital artmaking in a professional capacity. 2013 sees me returning to the Primary School environment to do what I feel I do best - to teach and bring joy and love of learning to the lives of students who are from different and sometimes difficult backgrounds. I am so fortunate to be an educator and I truly look forward to the rest of my career. www.erinlouisewilson.com www.facebook.com/erinlouisewilson
