I work in a lower income neighborhood in an urban area. I have 11 years of experience working with students in fourth and fifth grade who struggle with basic skills. In those years, I've served as department chair and a teacher leader. I've led many professional development sessions for my colleagues. I often host colleagues in "intervisitions" to model lessons.
I love differentiation and small group learning. Most of my students are English Language Learners and I've found they are most successful when in groups of 3-5 students.
