TEACHING EXPERIENCE

In completing my master’s degree and as the founding first-grade teacher, I was able to gain knowledge in curriculum writing, design and instruction. Knowing the theory behind what I have been doing makes me a stronger teacher and advocate for student success. As a seasoned teacher my experiences entail inclusion classes, ELL classes and test scores were consistently at the 85% and above achievement rate. Through the use of the SIOP/SEI strategies, I was able to support my inclusion class and ELL population and guided my students’ success.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My strategies stem from my research and understanding of the Responsive Classroom techniques, Teaching with Love & Logic and Teaching Like a Champion.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

After ten years in the education world, I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership at Montclair State University in August of 2016, because of my outstanding academic achievement, I was inducted to Alpha Epsilon Lambda (AEL), national honor society for graduate and professional students in May 2016 for obtaining a 4.0 GPA.
