I have worked in arts education, as a tour guide, programme planner, and school arts teacher. I have my specialist in Reading Education, and I have been an Early Literacy Intervention teacher, and a subject Coach with my school board. Recently, I have switched my focus to math, and I'm currently doing action research, looking at how a strong foundation in patterning skills might influence learning in the other math strands.
I try to base every lesson on an inquiry model. We start with a question or goal, and we learn as we try to solve the problem or reach the goal. I incorporate the arts in as much as I can, and try to meet the needs of as many learning styles as possible.

I did my undergrad in visual arts, and then qualified as a teacher in 1996, at Queen's University, in Kingston, Ontario.
In my off time, I write for children, and I hope, one day, to be published.
