2006-2015 Taught all levels of French 1-AP in inner-city Los Angeles, built two AP programs, Created and facilitated a PLC of AP teachers on instructional strategies, MA Thesis study on student-self efficacy in the foreign language classroom. 2015- UCLA Doctoral dissertation: Closing the Achievement Gap: Improving Success of Low-Income Minority Students in AP Programs 2017-SME-French and Curriculum Development Expert for University of California Scout online curriculum, French levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and AP.
For 12 years I have worked with struggling readers and EL students on success in AP. I continue to develop ways to scaffold lessons to support all students to be successful in AP classes. This includes creating graphic organizers, scaffolded lessons, and blended-learning best practices.
