TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my fourth year teaching Core French at the elementary level.

MY TEACHING STYLE

This year, I teach SK- Gr. 6 Core French (excluding Gr. 4 & 5), but I have taught Core French classes from SK-Gr. 8 at some point in my career to date. I enjoy teaching my students in an interactive fashion allowing them to take control of their learning, and participate actively, and orally every day. Currently, I am gearing my teaching style towards the new curriculum with activities that are relate, and can be applied to my students' every day lives.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Similarly to many children taking French in Ontario, I too learned French as a second language through my studies at school. I took part in the French Immersion program from SK-Gr.8, and the Extended French program in high school. All of my elementary and secondary studies were completed through the TCDSB. At the University of Guelph, I majored in French Studies, and completed my third year of university studies abroad in Nice, France. My French teaching qualifications were done through York University's teacher college program with experiences teaching Gr.6 and Gr.7 students in English, and Gr.4-6 French at the Core French level. Since teacher's college, I have completed three additional qualifications: French as a Second Language Part 1, Religious Education Part 1, and French Honour Specialist.
