I am a Special Education teacher for Kindergarten thru 1st grade! I've taught grades PreK-5th, and special education and all things "early intervention" are sort of my "thing!" Mainly, I LOVE my job and find that it is so easy to come to work each day.
My teaching style is rooted in brain research--get the hands and body engaged! Very few resources in my classroom are pencil/paper. Students are out of their desks and learning as a whole group or in cooperative pairs. I believe that guided practice is the true heart of learning, so we often do a lot of practice activities together before I require my students to ever do something on their own. With that said, I will rarely ever be in the front of my classroom lecturing. My shop, "MnM Resources" came from a saying I often use: "Meaningful and Manageable." I create resources for my own personal use to be both meaningful to students, but also manageable for me as a teacher. My student's won't learn if the content or approach isn't meaningful, and surely I will lose my mind as a teacher if I can't manage the resources I give them!
