I am a 10 year veteran in ministry working both in in camp programming and church ministry. My goals for ministry have always been to provide ways for youth to come to know Christ as their personal Savior and to be able to provide witness to their faith. These are the same opportunities that the Church provided for me in my life in Christ. I would hope to provide a place for the youth to come and feel safe, involved, loved, nurtured, and welcomed by their peers and the entire body of the Church. I hope to have a ministry that teaches that “love†and “faith†are action words and need to be incorporated into a Christian lifestyle just as Jesus did in His ministry. I believe that Jesus Christ is my personal Lord and Savior. He is the center of my life and ministry. I have always felt it is my duty and privilege as a Christian to spread the Good News of the Gospel to others, not just through words, but through lifestyle and actions. We have been saved from our sins through the Fathers love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ who died on the cross and conquered death through His resurrection. These actions alone prove to us that God is a God of action. He continually meets us where we are, no matter where that may be, and calls us to Him. We must be constantly open to the Holy Spirit’s leading in our lives and be aware of that “still and quiet voice.†God calls each of us to live our faith on the outside and not just hold a belief system. Within Scripture, Jesus continually shows that words are not enough. They are important tools, but we need to follow God's example and have a ministry of doing. To coin a phrase from DC Talk: “Love is a verb.†The Bible is God's Word in physical form and is the perfect rule for faith, doctrine, and conduct. Scripture is more than just a tool for studying our faith; it is alive with God’s Spirit and continually speaks to those who take time to listen. As Christians, we need to seek out a deep relationship with God, where we can hear God’s leading even amidst the world’s noise. I believe that God created the universe, and I am in constant awe of that creation. I believe that this world was placed here for our enjoyment and wonder. As I grow as a Christian, I find the true nature of God is something that we will find impossible to grasp. Creation is here as proof of God’s existence, power, and glory; and the truly awe-inspiring fact is, in this great creation, He loves us most of all.
Visual, contextual, and relevant.
