Have worked in public schools at all levels. Most recently have been working in a high school setting for the past 12 years where I work with students with learning disabilities, autism and multiple handicaps. Consult district wide for AAC needs. Have done state wide AAC practice with adults with disabilities. I have blog where monthly I add ideas and information about working with older students with significant disabilities. Visit my site! http://cms.mollysslpideablog.webnode.com/
I am very hands on and creative therapist. I often get more ideas than I have time to complete! I use lots of literacy experiences with my more significantly impaired students to teach new concepts and vocabulary that can be incorporated into their communication systems. My social skills groups focus on learning about each other, learning social boundaries and learning how to decide what to do on the spur of the moment.
