Together, we have thousands of hours of teaching experience. Malea has extensive experience tutoring numerous subjects, teaching all aspects of English and ESL at the collegiate and high school levels, teaching public speaking, and mentoring homeschooling families. McKenzie has extensive experience teaching parenting and life skills classes, health science and child development to parents who are reunifying with their children.
We believe in adapting to meet the needs of the people and families we are working with. That may mean we have to adjust and re evaluate our strategies often. Between the two of us, we take a hands on approach and have a vested interest in helping individuals and families be successful as they navigate the education system.
Both of us graduated with honors from our respective colleges.
Malea- I received my undergraduate degree in Arts and Letters (think: English, humanities, history, anthropology, art history) from Portland State University, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. McKenzie-I attended California State University, Sacramento and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. I then went on to receive my Master of Education and Teaching credential from National University.
We pride ourselves on being authentic and genuinely believe in what we do. We are educators, friends and moms who understand that it takes a village and we want to help you!
