I have over 30 years experience teaching health and fitness. For the past 10 years my focus has been on growing emotional intelligence through yoga. Emotional Intelligence helps children build skills for life. I have written and illustrated several books relating to yoga; emotional intelligence; helping children reduce bullying; how to use emotional Freedom Technique with your children; and how virtues can support your child's development. My book 'Yoga for Little Bears' has had many positive reviews by teachers, parents and psychologists. It is based on how yoga postures can develop character, and how acknowledgment can build self-esteem.
I encourage flexibility to help children develop at their own pace. I believe that with positive acknowledgement children will grow to their full potential. In my resources I include brain activation sequences to support whole brain development; and to decrease stress around learning. I suggest ways to use positive language to promote self-esteem, and yoga postures to help develop strength, character and mind-body unity. The added bonus to incorporating yoga into lessons is an increase in health and well-being, and an increase in protecting self and others from bullying.
