TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have worked in Montessori schools for fifteen years. I have worked in both primary and lower elementary classrooms and have been lead teacher of my own lower elementary classroom for the past ten years. The materials here are a product of that experience and my alignment of Montessori with Common Core standards and best practices.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my Montessori training through the Michigan Montessori Teacher Education Center in Rochester Hills, Michigan. I hold an Associates degree from Northwestern Michigan College, a Bachelor of Arts in Language Arts from Grand Valley State University and have nearly completed a Master's degree in Science education from Western Michigan University's Mallinson Institute of Science Education. In addition to my formal training I have done extensive professional development in the areas of working with students with Autism and place-based environmental education.
