Certified Montessori Teacher since 1995
I have been a certified Montessori teacher for almost 18 years. I worked in a small school of about 75students for the first 3 years of my certification and then moved to a much larger school with 400+ students. I've been at my current school for 14 years now. I have a Primary class which consists of 3 - 6 year olds. I've been told that parents choose to have their kids in my room because of my no nonsense style of teaching. I set firm boundaries for my kids and they learn to respect them. I tell my parents that children need and crave boundaries in their lives. They need to step up and be a parent. Don't worry about making them sad or hurting their feelings. It's ok to say NO. Because if you don't do it now, when they're 4, you'll regret it when they're 14! Some of my students are now college graduates...Wow! That make me feel old! And I am proud to say that I help lay the foundation to what became a successful education.

I youngest of 4 daughters to 2 amazing parents. My father passed away this past year and as a family we are very proud to say that he is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. I have some fabulous friends who have been there for me since high school and have made some great friends in the years that I have been teaching. My family, my friends and my faith are what's most important to me.
