This is my 7th year teaching in public education. I started my teaching career as a traditional teacher, and taught 4th grade and kindergarten. I then changed paths and became a Montessori teacher at a public Montessori school in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I now continue to teach public Montessori in Connecticut. I currently teach lower elementary (1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade) in Hartford, CT.
I follow the teachings and philosophy of Maria Montessori. As a Public Montessori educator, Montessori makes up the majority of my instruction. However, being a public educator comes with following the Common Core State Standards and prepping for State Achievement Tests. I often feel as though my lessons are a hybrid between Montessori and traditional education. Thus, MontessoriFusion was born! My materials will be infused with the Montessori philosophy, but will be effective in traditional classrooms as well.
