TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for 20ears in Texas. I have taught 6th and 8th grade science in schools that have high needs and high demands.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am laid back in the classroom but very organized in my lessons. I believe that a unit of lesson should have a flow of material that makes sense from start to finish. When material is new and unfamiliar if you are jumping from topic to topic, students can get confused easily.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher of the Year, Teacher of the Week

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a degree in Biology and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction in science education. My master's program specifically focused on using the Learning Cycle(similar to 5E) to teach science in an organized way.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm just trying to help make things easier for another teacher like me. All of my lessons, labs and notes are all tested on my students. I teach them all just like you. Pre AP, Special education, english language learners. These activities are variable for multiple levels of students and address the expectations students need for success on standardized tests.
