After fourteen years of teaching language and content to English Language Learners (ELLs) in public school, I still haven’t discovered a magic wand to wave so “Poof!” my students master academic English. In my ongoing search for answers, though, I have put together a collection of resources that will help teachers – ESL, mainstream, and EC – empower students to enjoy the challenges and rewards of higher level thinking. My fonts, visuals, and icons focus on clarity, legibility, and concept support. Most important - learning must be fun. Use these with laughter, love, and a sense of humor to open hearts and minds!
I was the Lead ESL teacher for my district for 10 years.

I am the daughter of German political refugees. I taught myself passable Spanish; and I play around with French and Portuguese. The husbands of my two sisters and my two daughters each came from a different country so we embrace five languages in three generations. I am fascinated by neurolinguistics, why people acquire and learn additional languages in different ways, and how this can be applied to effective instruction. My favorite pastimes are Chinese painting and organic gardening (so I'm not all word nerd!).
