I have spent most of my teaching career educating grades Kindergarten-2nd. I also have experience with middle school aged students with a gifted and talented focus and I have some experience with a High School orchestra.
I focus mostly on getting the students up and moving. When I was a student in music class, before I began to play an instrument, my biggest challenge was having to sit still for so long! My students begin each class with songs to get their wiggles out. We do a rhythm section during class, sing lots of fun, upbeat and some current songs, all while focusing on learning more about music theory.
