MY TEACHING STYLE

Ridiculous Association is one of the method used to help students remember rules that need to be memorized. Language rules (root words, prefixes, suffixes, parts of speech) are taught to help students understand math vocabulary. Emphasis is placed on big ideas that will follow a student throughout their math education. Subvocalization is a reading method taught to the students. The child will be trained to access information through the neurons that lead from our ears to our brain versus always using the neurons that lead from our eyes to our brain. Through my experience, using both pathways leads to better comprehension and retention. Students will be expected to write neatly and be organized. Many mathematical errors are caused by inaccuracies not inability. Some handwriting skills will be taught to the student if necessary.
