I've been teaching since 1996. I started out in 3rd grade, and taught that for 7 years. I moved to Kindergarten, and was there for 8 years before moving to 1st grade. I now teach 4th grade. No matter what age, I believe all children can learn. It is up to us to remind them of that philosophy!
My teaching style is hands-on, standards-based learning. I always keep in mind we are teaching students, not standards. But I know standards must drive instruction if we want to succeed!
1998- Marcus-Cable STAR Teaching Award 2007-2008 - School Level Teacher of the Year
I attained my Assoc. Degree from WSCC, my B.S. from Carson Newman, my Master's Degree from UTK, and my EdS from LMU
I began teaching in 1996. I've witnessed many changed in education over the years; technology has been a major improvement in the way I teach.
