TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for over 17 years. I have taught everything from 1st to 8th grade and have enjoyed each of those grades for different reasons. I've also taught in a variety of multi-grade settings. Currently, I teach third grade in a small mountain town in California.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My classroom is a continual work-in-progress. I believe in project-based learning, flexible seating, and differentiated instruction that changes based on student needs. I believe in poetry, PE every morning, cursive writing, and tech-integration. I try new things; sometimes they work, other times they are epic failures. I believe it's all part of being an authentic, life-long learner.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

No formal ones to speak of, but I hold each letter of appreciation from parents and students close to my heart. I have a file of these treasures that are more precious than any district award ever could be.
