I have had 30+ years of teaching experience with children who have special needs. I have worked with children with hearing impairment, speech and language delays, auditory processing disorders, children with Autism and many others in the pubic school system. My goal is to improve overall communication, prevocational and pre academic skills so students can participate in activities with typical peers.
I am firm but fair. I have a structured classroom and provide children with clear and consistent expectations. I love to hear laughter in my classroom that occurs during teacher/child and peer to peer interactions during daily activities. I encourage children to problem solve with materials, negotiate with peers, and learn through exploration and play.
