TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Mrs. "Kirsten"

I grew up in a family of educators and was convinced that I'd be different. One journalism degree later, I started working as a Line Therapist for children with Autism and fell in love. I taught Early Childhood Special Education for five years and continued my teaching journey by opening my own daycare.

Mr. "Jake"

I enlisted in the US Army at 18 years old and learned on the job while serving my country in Iraq finding roadside bombs. After returning, I taught several thousand soldiers who were heading overseas. I am currently a senior instructor in the Army Reserve. On a day-to-day basis, I teach middle school students with disabilities, co-teach Language Arts, and serve as department chair.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Jake

I am a very relational person. I am motivated by opportunities to solve interesting problems. Some days the problems I solve involve calming angry and stressed out middle schoolers, other days its coming up with a technology based solution to improve administrative functions within my department or school.
