Elementary Physical Education Teacher - Howard County Public Schools, MD: 2010 - Present Elementary Physical Education Teacher - Grundy Center Community Schools, IA: 2009 - 2010
My gymnasium is about maximizing activity time for every class and getting students to become "thinking movers" in order to facilitate the brain-body connection. I use a lot of guided and self discovery type lessons to get students to take ownership of their own learning as they are moving. I am all about integrating technology into the gymnasium as a way to expose students to new and exciting activities and tools that will help them improve their motor skills and overall fitness levels. My overall goal for my elementary students is to teach them the concepts and skills necessary to build the foundation on which a healthy, active lifestyle can be built.
