My name is Mr. Smith. I am in my twenty ninthth year as a teacher. I have taught 4th grade for sixteen years. Now, I am in my thirteenth year of teaching 3rd grade. I understand the need for leadership in the classroom. Role models for learning are powerful.
I love a hands on approach to learning. Allowing students to experience life through visuals and active participation in lessons is a goal I maintain. Getting kids thinking beyond the surface of the obvious in life is thrilling and fun! Finding evidence influences our success in the classroom challenges.
Logan City District Teacher of the Year Woodruff Elementary Teacher of the Year 2016 Bridger El. Teacher of the Year My favorites: Student notes saying, "Thanks!"
I graduated from Utah State University. I have pursued higher education to a level of Doctorate equal degree. I hold a reading endorsement that has given me great insights into great language arts teaching and best practices.
I love opportunities to spend time as a part time water color artist. My most recent work is 'Fall and Harvest Moon' inspired by the beautiful background mountains of Cache Valley, Utah. Being an elementary educator, I have been influenced artistically by the wonder and simplistic beauty of children's art work. My passion for drawing led me to watercolors. My work is recognized by the distinct capture of positive/negative color space and a focus of softening bold color choices with white lines. The stylized designs of my work stand as my trademark. I like to include in my posted lessons original watercolor artwork.
