ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Mr. Holland's message to all students: I believe that all of my students have the intellectual ability to do rigorous work and meet high standards. Unfortunately, not all of my students share this belief. It is my job to help them come to believe this, along with the conviction that it will be worth their while to do well in school. Therefore, in our minute-to-minute interactions, I communicate to students in every way I can the following messages: 1. What we are doing here is important. 2. You CAN do it. 3. I won't give up on you - even if you give up on yourself. - from "On Common Ground"
