During my ten years of teaching experience I spent six years as an elementary Special Educator, one year as a Reading Specialist, and three years as an Academic and Behavior Intervention Coach. I also have worked as a freelance educational consultant, trainer, and tutor for several years.
My teaching style is focused on multi-sensory, conceptual, and authentic reading, writing and math instruction. During my years in the classroom I researched and attended training sessions on any strategy I thought would help my students. Now that I'm a coach I train teachers and interventionists on the use of these strategies and focus on synthesizing multiple data sources to determine the most effective instruction for each student.

Josh Morgan is an Intervention Coach at Liberty Elementary in Lexington, KY, a former special educator, teacher leader, and literacy specialist with ten years of experience as an educator. After receiving a Teacher Leader Endorsement and Literacy Specialist Certification during his Master’s at Georgetown College, his interests shifted to focus on schoolwide structures and systems to improve academic and behavior interventions. He has presented at the International Reading Recovery Conference and has consulted with coaches, administrators, and district specialists in Kentucky and Ohio to support the implementation of effective systems to structure MTSS requirements. In January of 2017, the Kentucky Department of Education listed the intervention program at Josh’s home school, Liberty Elementary, on the Kentucky System of Intervention’s (KSI) List of RTI Model Sites. The school ranked as the top RTI model on the list with all 20 indicators of an effective program. This honor is currently shared with one other school in the state.
