I have been working as a youth instructor since I was 12 years old. Before entering the teaching field I worked as a summer camp instructor, lifeguard, swimming instructor, outdoor adventure leader, personal trainer, and coach. Over the last 15+ years I have taught fitness and health, aerobic training, 5K and 10K PE training, weightlifting, cardio conditioning, high-performance training, as well as Physical Education, Health, ELA, Robotics, and Middle Years Homeroom.
Skills over Theory. I design projects and activities that help students develop the hard skills they need from the subject matter and use that as a springboard to cover more nuanced and detailed topics.
