TEACHING EXPERIENCE

6 years teaching in a predominately low income, urban part of southern california. 20 years in non-profit youth and community work in Southern California.

MY TEACHING STYLE

The study of history goes far beyond just learning names, dates, and events. It is the study of human stories. These stories touch every surface of our humanity and gives us an opportunity to use empathy and understanding in order to make sense of life's most difficult issues. I use a combination of hands on learning experiences and analyzing various sources in order to push students toward understanding the big ideas that studying history presents to us.
