I have been teaching now for 16 years. As all teachers know, learning is a life long adventure. I have taught every grade in Elementary Education with the exception of Kindergarten. I started in 3rd Grade, was switched around by my previous principal to gain different experiences at different grade levels. I currently teach 3rd Grade at a brand new school and I absolutely love it. I love being involved in my student's educational growth and sharing my experiences with highly engaging educators who sincerely love educating children.
My teaching style is more so Modeling the desired learning and then Facilitating the growth of my students. It thrills me to no end to see my students explaining and modeling the hands on lessons I provide for them on a daily basis. We have an open door policy. No matter what was not learned yesterday, today is the first day of the rest of your life and you can learn today!
I have received numerous awards in my 16 years of service but the Honor/Award that humbles me the most is being selected "Teacher of the Year" by my colleagues back in 2009. The Teacher of the Year committee said the vote wasn't even close, lol. Now that is humbling.
