I have five years of teaching experience with the Aldine Independent School District as well as the Conroe Independent School District, both located in Southeast Texas. I have taught English I for the five years I've been teaching. I have two years of experience with English I Pre AP and I am currently in my third year of teaching English IV AP Literature and Composition.
I make a consistent effort year in and year out to keep my class as organic as possible. My classroom is a constant assessment of the students' needs and my lessons are tailored accordingly as each day progresses. I firmly believe that behavior and learning issues stem from a lack of engagement, not the other way around. Therefore, classroom engagement and a positive learning environment are both top priority in my class.
I have been a finalist for Campus Teacher of the Year for the past two years. I am also currently team lead for the 9th grade team at my school.
I received my bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, majoring in English with a minor in Secondary Education.
