I have been teaching for the past thirteen years in both public and private schools in Ontario and Quebec, Canada. I started my career as a special education teacher. After several years, I made a switch to teaching primary (Gr. 1-3) and junior grades (Gr. 5-6) as a classroom teacher. I am currently enjoying my role as a primary classroom teacher. I have also taught Grade 9 math during summer school several times.
My passions are mathematics education, technology integration, cooperative learning, and diversity and equity education. I enjoy making learning experiences fun and engaging with hands-on activities, inquiry-based, technology integration and the usage of cooperative learning structures. All students can thrive when effective instruction and engaging learning environments are provided. I work closely with all of my students to help them become creative individuals, critical thinkers and problem solvers.
My shining teacher moments are when students really engage and immerse themselves in their learning. They forget about my existence in the classroom. I love excited conversations, focused eyes, and students getting their hands dirty in what they’re learning. These moments bring me joy, and I strive to make them happen daily.
