I believe strongly in teaching the whole child. Every child has strengths and gifts and individual interests. Classroom learning must teach to all learners and all our senses. Music, arts, dramatic play, nature and exploration are as valued as reading, writing and math. Connectivity is essential. When children connect to topics in personal ways it stays with them! We must teach real life concepts in ways they can relate to and understand- and connect all the pieces as one in our exciting journey of learning together. Shall we sing?!

I love to work in my garden, go hiking, read, write music and sing and spend time with my family. I have a fabulous husband and two amazing sons- both who have attended my school-Monarch K-8. We have two dogs and live right around the corner in Superior which we love. I eat pizza almost everyday (my students love to tease me about it) which I always enjoy with a tall glass of milk. Yum! I have many original puppet friends that join me in teaching in my classroom and help represent a range of personalities and help teach us many lessons in social-emotional development in a group setting. I am a kid at heart and love Kindergarten!!
