TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have experience teaching a wide range of secondary students, classes, and literature, from diverse public schools to private Christian schools, Cisneros to Shakespeare.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching mantra is to be tough-minded and tender-hearted. I strive to challenge my students to be critical-thinking readers, eloquent writers, and effective speakers. More specifically, my lesson and unit planning focuses on cooperative learning, a diverse scope of activities, and higher order thinking. I think my students would tell you that my class is challenging, but enjoyable. I also hope they would tell you that I love them dearly, despite the reading and writing work load. :)
