I've been teaching for 8 years, and I've taught AP English Literature for 6 years and AP English Language for 3. I also teach Grades 9 and 10 enriched English courses, and mainstream Grade 11 English. In the past, I taught EAL as well.
My style is heavy on the hands-on application, student-led class discussions, meaningful group collaboration, and personalized learning projects. My lessons are teen-friendly, featuring the most current media and texts which supplement the study of classic literature.

I have a Bachelor of Arts (English Major) and a Bachelor of Education. I've developed professionally through two AP Summer Institutes (Toronto and San Diego) among many other workshops and training sessions. I've also marked provincial standards tests twice a year for 6 years, and am currently part of the provincial sample marking team.
I now teach at my alma mater, which I just love! I am married with one child, and another one on the way. My son loves reading as much as I do. Teaching teenagers is the most exhilarating job, and I truly enjoy each day of my work. The response and gratitude I get from my students is so very rewarding, and makes all the marking and prep worthwhile!
