TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am going into my 5th year of teaching the Visual Arts, Ceramics and newly added Media Arts/Video Production at the high school level and currently at the middle school level. I love creating with the students everyday and love my job!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am always looking for ways to integrate culture into my art, ceramic and media arts lessons. More recently I have been exploring using media arts to make short videos as demonstrations for my students. I've incorporated technology within my instruction everyday to engage my students. My students gain so much when they leave my class because they are learning about how art incorporates their everyday life's.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In the credential program I was awarded the Most Outstanding Art Credential Candidate in my entire graduating class. Most recently I was awarded Credential Candidate Rookie of the Year as a Media Arts Teacher. My video production students and I were awarded first place winners in the junior division of (PSA's) public service announcements and also the Sweepstakes winners for our creation of Global Perspectives, the documentary.
