This is my seventh year teaching Physical Education and Health. I began my career teaching grades kindergarten through sixth grade for five years in Illinois. I also served as a Physical Education Coordinator for a Summer Program. I am currently in my second year teaching grades seventh, eighth, and ninth in Utah. In addition, I am a certified archery instructor, and have taught archery for five years to students in fifth through ninth grade.
As a physical education and health teacher I have the opportunity to equip young people with the confidence and competence necessary to lead happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives. My job is to promote a safe, fun, and effective learning environment that fosters ingenuity, positive social interaction, and success through innovative and enriching experiences. My objective is to not only teach the students about health and wellness, but to also instill a personal value for health and wellness in their own lives.
I have planned, coordinated, and facilitated a number of in school and after school programs to promote health and wellness for my students, as well as, the faculty and staff at the schools I have taught at. Additionally, I have published lessons and bulletin boards on Pecentral.org
I received a Bachelor of Science in Education in the areas of Physical Education and Health education from Illinois State University in 2010.
I was born and raised in Downers Grove, Illinois (a western suburb of Chicago). I relocated to Salt Lake City in 2015 with my husband and our fur baby. In my free time I enjoy: running, hiking, snowboarding (pretty much anything that involves being outside!), yoga, recreational sports, spending time with family and friends, playing with my dog, traveling, reading, and painting.
