From 2009-2010, I was the head teacher in the three year old classroom in a Pre-K Academy. In the year 2010, I also was a substitute for a Montessori School. From 2011 to 2012, I observed at 4 middle schools, 3 elementary schools, and 1 high school. During that time, I also taught lessons at an elementary and a middle school. In the fall of 2013, I completed my student teaching at a Middle School where I taught seventh grade science and sixth grade math.
I teach very hands on with a lot of literacy throughout all of my lessons. I strive to have the students to take as much responsibility as possible during each lesson while giving them a fun and enjoyable experience.

My main drive is to provide students with authentic and effective teaching methods while also providing them with differentiated instruction that will not only meet their individual needs, but also maintain their interest. The commitment I have for every student’s academic and social success keeps me striving to create an optimal learning environment filled with interactive lessons and an assortment of assessments. With that being said, I ensure that every student is progressing and is held to high expectations because I believe in teaching for the mastery of every student. The gradual release method and think, pair, shares are a personal favorite of mine. I love keeping students on their toes, which could range from dressing up to fit the lesson or having them reach outside their comfort zone to experience the magic of meaningful learning. I am a strong believer in always attending professional development seminars, faculty meetings, and participating in school activities as much as possible. I thrive on providing students with the opportunities to partake in clubs, tutoring, and community service. During my instruction I employ a broad range of instructional techniques to retain student interest and maximize individual learning so that every student has the motivation and opportunity to succeed. My strongest belief is incorporating student creativity, because creativity is what will drive the future.
