TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught middle school in Washington state for one year before I lost my job due to budget cuts. I fell in love with primary while working as a para professional and went back to school for my additional endorsement. Now I am the happy teacher of a wonderful first grade class down in Arizona!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Our school has just moved to the "Beyond Textbooks" curriculum created by Vail School District. We no longer have a text book curriculum, and instead are given standards that we find the right resources to supplement (hence the name). Teachers Pay Teachers has been a life-saving resource! We are also implementing Balanced Literacy and Balanced Math this year so I am always either creating or on the hunt for new station ideas.
