I taught third grade for two and a half years and will start my second year of teaching first grade this fall. I also have student teaching experience in kindergarten and a year of teaching adult ESL. Check out my blog at organizedwiselearners.blogspot.com
I think learning happens when students are teaching each other, problem-solving together, and sharing their ideas. I try to do as much cooperative learning as possible every day; our district uses Kagan structures. I avoid "seat work" at all costs. I want my wiggly little ones up and moving, talking, sharing and creating. I hope to create and share things that help others who like to busy, noisy classroom!

I earned my BA in journalism and women's studies from Eastern Illinois University. When I left the newspaper business (after a few detours) I became a teacher through the MAT@USC program at the University of Southern California's Rossier School of Education.
