This will be my fourth year teaching third grade. I enjoy developing quality resources for my own classroom, and I am happy to share them with you!
My teaching style is primarily a workshop model, alternating between mini-lessons and skill application. I also work to incorporate kinesthetics, mnemonic devices, games, anchor charts, and interactive notebook activities to increase engagement, knowledge/skill acquisition, and content retention. I truly believe that students learn best when learning experiences are rigorous, intentional, and FUN! I love integrating multiple disciplines into my instruction whenever possible in order to maximize my time with my students!
Master's Degree Capstone Excellence Award (Emphasis on small group instruction using action research); Schatz Grant recipient for ELA mentor texts
M.S. Curriculum and Instruction; B.A. Interdisciplinary Studies K-8; Elementary Ed. Endorsement
I love teaching and developing engaging learning opportunities for my students, which is why I pursued and obtained a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Teaching is a true passion of mine. Prior to teaching, I was a registered nurse for 5 years, but I never could shake that desire to get in the classroom. I am the wife of a firefighter and adoptive mother to an orange tabby cat. When I'm not at school or working on school-related things, I enjoy reading, indoor spin cycling, drinking coffee, and binge-watching television series. I live in the Seattle area and love my Seahawks and my Mariners, win or lose!! Please feel free to send any questions/comments my way, and I will address them asap. Thanks for taking the time to view my products and learn more about me! Happy teaching!!!
