My first couple of years I taught grades 3rd and 5th in the public school system. I more recently taught grades 5th- 8th Social Studies in a private school. I also had the joy of teaching Bible to my 8th grade homeroom. Prior to and during my teaching career I have tutored in various subject areas to all ages.
I truly believe that our goal as teachers should be to teach others to learn independently. My teaching style reflects this goal. My students are constantly being encouraged to create and discover new ideas and concepts on their own or in groups. I would never want a student to leave my classroom and feel that they have NO idea what to do.

I graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Education and ESOL endorsement. I hope to earn a Masters in Middle Grades Social Studies in the future.
Currently, I am blessed to be staying at home with my two toddlers (baby J is now 32 months and Baby A is 15 months). It is never set in stone as to how long this will be or when I will return to the classroom so I am taking it one day at a time. Life is busy and lovely and fun and stressful and sometimes frustrating... so I am semi- randomly planning to post things I have used in the past, ideas I am coming up with to use in the future, and most importantly ideas I am falling on to as we go along as "3 crazy nuts" at home in Miami!
